Not portable in the sense that you don't take it out of the house (that's what the DS/3DS is for) but in the home? Have they said whether or not it

the games have to be on the WiiU for it to be played on the new controller. Reggie said that during an interview with g4 yesterday.

I think people are confusing the controller with a console itself rather than thinking of it as a display for the real console.
