In response to "I had a student today appeal to the chair to get her B+ changed to an A." by nubby

The last time I had a student do that, I told the department chair ...

"Not only is ___(student)___ a complete douchebag, he can't even follow directions. And anyone who loses points because he can't follow directions shouldn't be allowed in med school."

The dude was trying to argue that the 30 points he lost over a series of four quizzes shouldn't count because his TA took off points for failing to follow the direction at the top of the short answer section on each quiz saying "YOU MUST ANSWER THESE SHORT ANSWER QUESTIONS USING COMPLETE SENTENCES THAT ARE INTELLIGIBLE ENOUGH FOR YOUR LAB INSTRUCTOR TO READ. If you do not answer using complete sentences, you will lose at least half credit (if not more), and single-word answers WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT ALL."
