if her fiance isn't even invited to her sister's wedding, then i see no reason for her to go to ths shower (or the wedding for that matter.)

as long as the letter-writer believes she's be able to live with this and have no regrets later, she isn't really obligated to do anything, just because she was invited.
here's the other thing, i wouldn't go to a shower for a wedding i was refusing to attend, and i might refuse to attend my sister's wedding if she purposely excluded my fiance.
