I'm not kidding here.
X-Men was forgettable? it's an exceptional movie that highlights the emotional toll of being on the outside of society, struggling for acceptance and the ways you can achieve that.
I've been saying this for literally a decade but that opening scene was remarkable. I was grinning ear to ear, literally as it ended. This is strange for a frigging scene that takes place in a Concentration Camp but I was smiling because I knew Singer understood exactly the entire point of the X-Men.
X-Men isn't my favorite movie but in the realm of comic book movies it is exceptional and the opening scene is extraordinary.
The Opening Scene of Batman Begins is a great action sequence. It introduces, perhaps, what they're going to do with the Joker but it doesn't compare to the opening scene of X-Men.
