Sorkin was a petulant little child when Dubya beat Gore. He took it out via a ridiculous paper tiger character instead of the smart GOPers he'd had to that point.

Ainsley Hayes vs Gov Ritchie. What a fucking joke. But Sorkin got even with Bush...no wait, he didn't. He just pissed off a lot of viewers (season 3 crested at 17mil a show?) with his petty vindictiveness on that character.
