I think Real World was popular enough to spawn JS even without Survivor.

really the only things to blame for reality shows are the fact that: 1) they are cheap to produce and 2) that people watch them...nm

Blaming Survivor for Jersey Shore is like blaming Friends for the craptacular Friends-like shows in the early 00's. -- nm
