Read an interesting story about him this morning. Once when he was managing Denver's AAA team they were set to play a really fast team from Portland

So he had the groundskeeper discreetly move first base back a foot, from 90 ft to 91ft. "And all those bang-bang plays at first base became outs for us," he said.
