iTunes started out with DRM. They didn't want it then. Now iTunes doesn't have DRM. And they still don't want it. The Beatles collection is ... well,

let's just say that Apple has a sordid history with it, and I'm a bit surprised that Amazon doesn't have it.
So I think the overlords of the Beatles collection A) want DRM, and B) absolutely do not want to deal with Apple, due to the previous bitter rivalry of the 80s and 90s (see: Apple Records v. Apple Computers).
Since Amazon doesn't allow DRM, that might be why Amazon doesn't have it.
