because it sounds sooo plausible. wedding folks get requests often, an out of country parent wants you to set up a wedding...

what they do is google just enough info to have a few details.
I could have fallen for it early on, except they choose a catholic church in some dustbin, farm laborer town that I knew was more of a homeless/indigent help center for dirt poor farm workers. It didn't make any sense when there were some nice resorts not that far away.
but here's a MO for $50,000 cash it, make sure it 'clears' and book the reception, flowers, limo blah blah, oh send the overage to my company that's paying for it western union of course.
