For non-NYers, this isn't sailing through the Senate because there's a small GOP majority, yes, I know it's New York.

But remove NYC from the equation and you basically have a blood red state. All my local legislators (even in the Assembly, which is OVERWHELMINGLY Democrat) and the ones in the surrounding districts are all firmly entrenched Republicans who face token challengers for reelection ever 2 years. Oh, and the districts, especially for the Senate, are horribly gerrymandered.
