As a theological argument, I support this.

Or the way I put it on the panel discussion I participated in last week: "If you're a Biblical literalist, then you better be a Biblical literalist the entire way. That means stoning your disobedient children, condemning cotton/polyester shirts, and if you're a man and your married brother dies, then you need to marry his widow within a fortnight. But if you're going to rationalize some of these obligations away, then anything is fair game."
