Are tech people around? I'm trying to fix the master boot record in my pc

should be easy, right? All I need is to boot from the window installd cd, choose R for repair, then fix MBR.
But the install CD doesn't recognize that I have a hard drive.
Responses:
Oof. I had to do this once. Not sure I was successful. I had to use some software to recover the data then format the drive. -- nm
