The Democratic Party/Pelosi have a wall that tracks races they think they want to get very active in, in the upcoming election. I'm sure the Republican party has the same thing, although from what they say the Dem one is constantly a flurry of activity and fundraising. As of now, there are 60 House Members names on that wall. All Republicans in districts that President Obama carried in 2008.
I of course asked them to be sure of the next statement, because since they staff democratic they are bias, but...the party leaders are very confident they can take the vast majority of those seats back. Seems like a huge step to me, but apparently they are coming in guns blazing to these races and think they can unseat a lot of people. FWIW, they say a lot of the districts have shown early polls in favor. Granted they admit they will lose other districts and don't have chances, these are the ones they are gunning for.
I don't think I see a swing like that, especially with over a year to go until elections, but it should be an interesting race regardless.
Just thought it was an interesting topic.
