what's f'd up is that in all other cases of other states offering marriage license with different rules, all states still honored the marriage, IE:...

under aged girls, some states you can't marry a girl under 16, but like Jerry Lee Lewis who married a 13yo cousin in England, the marriage was honored here in the US
and in many states you weren't allowed to marry people outside your own race, yet if you went to another state, your marriage was still valid even if you couldn't share a hotel room, eat in most restaurants, go to the same beach or swimming pool.
the same goes for all the little laws, blood tests (I don't know if any state still requires them) one state ain't going to say you weren't legally married cause you didn't do what was required here.
