as someone who deals with security guards on a regular basis, I agree..

We have some decently waged folks at our work, and they do care - they're very alert, very friendly, and do a great job.
The guards that guard abandoned buildings I sneak in to - I imagine they are paid crap and don't really even attempt to keep the fences patched up... it really shows. One place, the guard would go to "lunch" for 4 hours every Sunday at 11AM sharp. Just had to wait for him to go, then walk in the front door.
