As a chronic warthog driver, I've experienced the air-spin many times. The first few times, you just land there and you're stunned for a second, waiting to respawn, only to realize you're not dead.
I always catch myself tilting my controller and pushing the thumbpads, like it affects the spin at all. In actuality, I feel it's partially willpower. These days, I practically win (and curse and cuss) the warthog to land on all four tires (DON'T YOU FUCKING ROLL ON ME! DON'T YOU ROLL!)
I'm loving the new "heavy" gametype, BTW. My brother's like a sniper with that gauss cannon.
