Two ways: DVD creation software that converts the video file into a VOB and burns it onto a DVD (any DVD creation software will do this). And...

...copying the files to the DVD in the sense that it's a data disc. Some - but not all - DVD players will not recognize data discs and fewer still will recognize the random codec the video was encoded in (Divx/Xvid, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and Windows Media are possibly recognized codecs).
