Judging from what I've seen on Engadget so far, "accessory screens" (little monitors that connect through USB) are going to be big.

Several different manufacturers are showing them off at CES. They're small displays (like 9") that serve as accessories to your main monitor. They connect through USB (not VGA or DVI) and some are also powered through USB. If you've got music playing, maybe they'll show the album cover, or they can display a digital frame-like slideshow, or a calendar, for instance. I've got a tiny Microsoft "sideshow" screen (about 3") on my Dell XPS and I love it. The new generation of my computer doesn't have it, and I was bummed. But if they're coming out with something similar yet bigger, now I'm not so bummed. I expect no additional software will be required to run these things since Vista (and Windows 7, presumably) has the sideshow functionality built into it. Just download the app you want running on the screen, et voila!
