Openfiler. It's basically a Linux based file server. Does NAS and iSCSI. Web GUI. I have it as a virtual machine on my home server -- nm

It seems better rated than FreeNAS for file sharing and I like the GUI management better than doing the iSCSI and Samba stuff myself -- nm

Easy to do, even without FreeNAS or Openfiler. I'd go with rsync backups rather than RAID1, then you're as good as your last backup
