i'd feel mostly annoyed at the last person to bail. if it was just me and one friend taking the train then they said 'oh sorry, i'm going in the car,

you're on your own", i'd be a little put out maybe.
but, taking the train for a few hours to meet up with people, by itself, is no big deal.
