Okay actual work related question: Is it acceptable for an external partner to reply to an e-mail and their salutation is just their first inital?
|
A person from another goverment department and I have been e-mailing back and forth for about three weeks about organizing an event and they are wanting our involvment. I have never met this person and we never had corresponded before December of 2008.
The last e-mail I got was just her response and on the same line her first initial. I dont think its very professional but maybe I am wrong.
Thoughts?

For Government, I don't think it's very professional either. But what can you do. -- nm

If it was in a stream of communication it would have absolutely no effect on my interest in getting the event done. -- nm

Is it a fresh email? if it's the third or fourth reply in a long email discussion, I think it's fine
