if she said "i don't want you going to work - there are aliens infiltrating your company" then you continue to go to work, but you do not dismiss - there's something else going on.
saying "i am worried about you spending so much time alone with a woman" is not way out in crazy-ville.
and i do believe that if there is a temptation at work that could threaten your marriage, it's better to quit your job and save the marriage than keep going down that path. jobs are temporary - your marriage can last a lifetime if you are careful and mindful of its state.
