update on Sin Cara wellness violation....

Since what I wrote this morning in the subscription-only Elite section has been misconstrued and incorrectly credited to PWInsider.com, I wanted to post what I actually wrote regarding the background of Sin Cara's suspension:

As noted previously, Sin Cara has been suspended for 30 days for violation of the WWE Wellness Policy. However, what makes the Wellness suspension extremely interesting is that the violation actually took place in mid-JUNE and he was publicly suspended today.

As I wrote in the Elite section of PWInsider.com this morning, we heard from a well placed WWE source on 6/20 that Cara had been flagged for what we were told was a "steroid failure".

Since I was not able to second source the suspension, I wrote WWE Spokesperson Robert Zimmerman the same day. A day later, he responded with the following: "per our Talent Wellness Program policy if there is a violation the company will make the necessary announcement."

Apparently, that verbiage can be translated into meaning that WWE will decide when they want to suspend talents going forward. I know that Cara, who had still been pushed strongly in recent weeks, had been among those tested after my back and forth with Zimmerman.

Now, whether Cara was working for free, like the company used to do so they could write suspended talents out and whether he will be paid royalties for his appearance in last night's PPV, I can't confirm.

There was a lot of heat on Cara for the suspension since he had been very much promoted as Triple H's first major international hire under his new position within the company.
