If they're smart, Punk doesn't come back till November (Survivor Series)

you have them build a legitimate champion...Punk then shows up in November, waves the "real" title around, and then they manage to build to the unification at WM 28 and you get Rock/Cena at their own match for nothing other than bragging rights.
