Now Manning and Brees are asking to be exempt from the franchise tag.

For the rest of their careers, starting this season.

That would make Manning an unrestricted free agent. In the unlikely event that that happened, how much would the Bucs offer him? They'll need to spend around $50M to reach the salary floor, so they'll be spending a lot.
