In response to "It's *hard* booking hotels for a week of travel when you're not staying in one place the whole time *and* you want to save $$." by CovingtonCat

Have you tried Priceline.com?

I've found them to be the best at booking single night stays. What they do is sell rooms for nights that a place isn't 100% booked. I've used them for nights in Vancouver and Victoria BC, San Francisco, and Newport Beach CA, and Portland OR. The most I paid was 50% of the rack rate. In Newport Beach, we got 72% off the rack rate. It was a Ramada not 5 star, but not Motel 6 either) in a nice area close to the beach, had a pool and hot tub, and we paid $48/night.
