And yet it didn't stop the House and Senate from passing other key pieces of legislation during the "lame duck" session.

Many of which did not have the support from the right (Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal).
But no, Harry Reid didn't have a crystal ball. No, he's not responsible for what the Tea Party is doing with the debt ceiling debate right now. But he did play politics with it back when his party had control just as the Tea Party is now.
I didn't realize my post, which was ultimately about how I hoped someone credible challenged him, and beat him (right there in my post), would find so many Reid apologists who suddenly jump up and defend that hack.
