In response to "Doesn't that just mean that the hot 100 is bullshit? -- nm" by TFox

It tracks exactly what is "the most popular" iTunes/Amazon sales (the biggest factor), physical sales, total radio spins, "hot 100" station spins etc.

The biggest factor is iTunes sales. Pop sells. These rock songs do not. People tend to buy the album more I think in rock than pop (obviously certain exceptions), but the iTunes sales figures are unbelievably low.

Also, way more pop/hot 100 radio type stations, than rock ones. These pop songs get hundreds of millions of plays a week. The biggest rock songs if only played on rock radio, cannot get half of that.
