sadly, it doesn't add any new features to ST ... but it does kick off my code improvement efforts

and the eventual final result of that is:

1) Cleaner, easier to maintain code (which means it will be faster to make improvements to the site)

2) Templated interface (which means I can start doing some really interesting things with the design of the site, but also keep the current interface at the same time - ideally, never having to do an "old twitter/new twitter" hard changeover)
