I'm on Blatchford's side. The Layton coverage has him just short of Gandhi.

And the letter is political. Overtly crafted to be so. I don't begrudge the guy his last moment in the focus, but let's not pretend it's beyond the same level of writing and depth as 99% of the fundraising letters that get sent out every year.
The way the critics want it, there was absolutely 0% room for non-platitudes on Monday. I like my media world a little more mixed bag than that.
(Let's put it this way: If Harper were to go, don't we know that there would be some negative reflections appearing the same day too?)
