You could both sit down with an attorney now and work out a separation agreement that contains all these parameters, as a way to protect yourself.
Help her along, if she learns, fine; if not, that's gotta be fine, too. Set a time limit. Define what happens one day past that limit. (Her life on the lawn? Maybe.)
These are tough calls, and you need to make them in writing with her agreement now; otherwise, none of your good intentions will see fruition.
