women can survive without men; hard to believe but true!
so sorry to see you're going through a divorce, though. that always sucks.
(note: i started over at age 28 or so. completely over. i could have lawyered up and gotten my fair share [house equity, etc.]. but instead i decided to walk away and build my life back up from the beginning. i got the dog, a handful of household items, and a car with no equity. that's it.
not every woman is going to take every man to the cleaners. sometimes a person just wants their life back.
*however*. you've set a precedent from the very beginning - she's been your dependent, not your equal. so naturally it could go very differently.
i just hate the assumption that every woman is going to take every man to the fucking cleaners.
