I though that you meant one of the games after Saturday.

Because I thought if one game was canceled on Saturday, both would be canceled.

Maybe they just don't feel like doing something to help out a division rival when there is not only no benefit for them to do so, and actually some problems with them doing so.

Maybe they don't want to play a day game after returning home from a road trip.

Maybe the funeral is already scheduled for Friday afternoon and they want to allow some of the players the opportunity to attend.

Maybe they think one of the Friday games would be rained out.

Maybe they're just being petty. But that wouldn't be my first guess.
