I don't think they refused to hurt the Yankees, but that doing it would presumably help the Yankees since it sounds like they're the ones asking for it.

For the O's, it would be a hassle to move it this late. They really have no incentive to do so, and it would at the very least be difficult logistically.

You seem to think it's the "they're being petty" answer. I disagree.
