I'm thinking there are a lot of folks who did something really nasty in their youth who now have this sword of demociles hanging over them.
some if not more than a few might come forward and say lets get this over with. And I'll guarantee that a good portion of them would be crimes that would never have been solved as evidence was lost, dna non recoverable, but the confession solves an old crime and closes the book, answers some parent's questions.
