In response to "Did anyone else watch that alternate universe show on Spike this week?" by Beaker

The history was comic book like as was the entire presentation.

that "marine" commentator was a chud.

Yeah...the 262 would have helped but there was no way it would have been operational in time. There were a few officials who saw it for the war winning weapon it could have been (Goering not being one of them unfortunately). But tactically it would have just staved off the inevitable as the Brits and the US were working on jet fighters as well. They were 12-18months behind and with the ability of the US to spit out war machines the 262 would have gone down. What it would have done is prolonged the war however.

The sea launched V-2 is a joke. The sea launched V-2 with a nuke on it even funnier.

The Germans did have a realistic chance of getting the bomb before us. That's real and that would have changed everything. And had the Germans concentrated on the Amerika Bomber a bit more then it really would have changed things. But they were focused on air power that helped land invasions not strategic bombing. Had the 262 held off the allies for another year with an Amerika Bomber carrying nuke then maybe this all makes sense. But that's alot of stuff that needed to go right.

But we all know what they did to screw up strategically. More than anything those strategic mistakes doomed the Nazis. Invading Russia was dumb but dividing your forces doing the fighting into 3 parts was what really doomed them. Had they gone south with everything and captured the oil that would have been significant. Even just going up the center for Moscow would have been a good choice. Going for Stalingrad was stupid. It had little value other than the name.

The show was historical crap.

I think I'm done ranting.
