One last thing - 2 of our disaster recovery services had mentioned smoke removal options - if smell is an issue to donate to one or both organizations

You could explain it to one and see if they'd donate the smoke clearing for them going to a good cause...
Never underestimate the giving nature of businesses that can use their skills for helping vs. Having to donate cash/money.
So cool you have thought of others ... Hope it can work!
