You know, quite honestly, the lack of perspective and unwillingness to listen to disenting voices this week bothers me.

I like Jack. I give him a world of credit for his accomplishments. But this reaction in the public, political and media circles shows just how provincial a country we are sometimes. I refuse to believe that serious-minded nations lack such a historical and global perspective at times of retorspection.
