Amen. The founding fathers were brilliant to both believe in the people as a whole, but not to simply trust the majority.

For it was the majority that oppressed them where they came from, and they were intent to not let it happen again. The country was imperfect in it's origins, but the intentions of the nation were noble and the framework established were nothing short of brilliant.
