if you go to the 3rd Infantry FB page a dig down a bit, you will find posts from the guy who is in the photos.
When I was fortunate enough to work at Fort McNair for a year, I met many of the 3rd Infantry soldiers. Their assignments include guarding the Tomb of the Unknown, as well as participating in every military funeral at Arlington Cemetery. I watched them perform drills with caskets. What a tough job, and what a fine group of guys.

Well, as far as I know, they must be selected to be in the 3rd infantry (which is ceremonial). They must be a certain height, physique, and look. -- nm

I believe that they volunteer, or else "request" for Tomb of the Unknown .. but they go thru a very strict program to prepare for it ,,,
