Well tonight while cleaning out my gecko tank I found Zeus had died.

He'd lost a lot of weight in the last few weeks and I was hand feeding him baby food to try to nurse him back to health, but obviously to no avail.

He was 7 years old, and that's a pretty long life for a Crested Gecko in captivity (not to mention the wild...). And he certainly lived a good life (he always had some tail to chase!). Speaking of which, Hera does seem to be holding a clutch, so maybe he left one last present for us (though i'm not holding out too much hope as none of the previous clutches she's laid have survived.

And now i've got to find Hera another suitable mate; they don't tend to do well alone, especially the females.
