well these are full fledged sandals with velco straps for heel and instep but there is still a gap where bits of sticks w/attitude can enter and screw

why yes they were, see the lower part that lays on the ground raises your feet almost an inch away from that nasty hot stuff, besides it was f'n HOT -- nm
