Microsoft calling their new product "Windows 7" was genius.

"7" is not a name that rolls off the tongue, so people call it "Windows 7", instantly associating its most popular brand with its latest iteration. In the past, we've have "XP" and "Vista". They could be named on their own, without ever saying "Windows". This new version *requires* you to say the full brand name.
