I have been characterized as being "rude" when I started on the HSX board last year. What I did was correct people who posted false/unreliable/manipulative information on the movie board. Most of the posts (not the posters) that I attacked knew what they posted wasnt true or manipulative. It affected my port and I wasnt shy about posting a correction when I had more reliable information from a more reliable source. I didnt consider this to be rude. It is what the other posters and Dmac do in the same situations. But I used the subject of "uh dude" which is what really bothered people. I stopped using that subject line after it was explained that it offended people.
I used to post STVs about once a month. One month I accidently posted (all in one post) a few new STVs but included one that I had posted two weeks prior. Somebody felt they needed to rip me a new one. I no longer post STVs.
Rolling the board became a contest at one point so I got good at rolling the boards and people had certain sayings or movie quotes that they used. I used a quote that involved a bunny. That made people mad. Dont know why. But I stopped that too.
The last six months I have only posted movie news (with a few minor exceptions). And even posting that actor XYZ joined the cast of movie XXX, certain people have found a way to make it into a personal attack.
I have been told by Havens and Secretstalker in particular that if I made changes to my habits on the movie board (which I have) that those two themselves would treat me better. But they havent. In fact it seems to be getting worse.
I dont plan on continuing in slacker talk after HSX comes back up. Thats why you havent seen me here. I only came here as a favor and a courtesy to relay some info that DMac gave me. Similar to the post Havens made earlier in the day about the game status/progress. I was told a large number of players were hanging out here and I thought I would let them know what I was told about the game. The next update I get I will probably just post on the IRC. (he he...I made it under six paragraphs!)
