The decision to change, no. The changes they made, that's another story.

It seemed like everything (except, an argument could be made, the boards) was a step backwards. Had the changes they made to the game aspect been improvements, they probably would have gone over well. After the normal "change sucks" grumbling. Instead, they made it all worse, from my limited experience with it.
And before anyone asks about the boards, I didn't like the new boards much. I like this format, at least for this community. It could easily be called antiquated, though, so the new version could have been seen as going forward.
