I'd never heard of Final Fantasy before then, and was suddenly thrust into a gaming world full of depth, characterization, and (at the time) incredible graphics. Instant addiction. Now RPGs are basically the only games I play, when I bother to sit down and play something.

I bet some teens of this era will feel the same way about FF13, even though a lot of us who have followed the series for a while were disappointed by that one.
