Indeed. Lots of hubbub because the offer is financed by the Chinese gov't. There's also some questioning of the legitimacy of the offer.

LA Times wrote that there is speculation that McCourt might be trying to use this as leverage on his claim that his wheeling and dealing *hasn't* damaged the club the way MLB claims.
