If your house is wired for audio and video, you're probably looking at professional level switching equipment.

3 years into my job, these people still throw out terms at me I don't understand. "Do you want SDI or NTSC?" "Uh..."

I've got a pretty nice consumer hook-up in my home, but it's all on a couple of shelves off to the side of my TV, with cables dangling everywhere, hooked into a receiver. I don't do multi-room, and if you're looking at multi-room (especially for video), you're gonna pay for it.

Otherwise, get yourself a $900 receiver, run HDMI to everything in sight, plug in the speakers, and you're golden.
