I was also more clueless. It must have been 3 days and a flight back to the US before I went on antibiotics. On the bright side, they were able to identify the bug that time. (Campylobacter)

I ended up purchasing antibiotics in a pharmacy in Kigali. Turned out it's banned by the FDA. No prescription necessary. - loosilu Sep 2, 23:14
