There aren't many ssd notebooks out there, and they don't seem to be much cheaper than the air.

My current job supplies 8" net books or you can bring your own laptop. If I bring my own I'd be lugging it on the bus and to pick up my son from daycare. It has to be lightweight, yet big enough to offer a significant advantage over the net books.
I'm looking at the refurb 11" air, which is going for $750. Wondering what I can get in the windows world for same or less.
I also need to stop by the apple store to see if I can really stand the 11".
